The Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI) released its 2026 independent evaluation, finding it to be a well-organized and professionally managed service. The evaluation made 26 recommendations including binding authority for all decisions, increasing compensation limits to $550,000 with inflation indexing, and strengthening systemic issue reporting. OBSI plans to incorporate these recommendations into its 2027-2031 Strategic Plan.
