Eni Builds Uruguay Offshore Presence Through New Exploration Deals
Eni has signed agreements to expand its presence in Uruguay's offshore exploration sector. The Italian energy company will operate the OFF-5 block with MIWEN (YPF subsidiary) holding 50%, and will acquire a 40% stake in the neighboring OFF-6 block operated by APA Corporation. Eni will fund a significant portion of an initial exploration well scheduled for 2027. These moves strengthen Eni's position in Latin America and diversify its upstream operations.
